Pediatric surgical plan will treat 120 patients in Mérida

This Monday, May 25, a pediatric medical surgical day began in the state of Mérida at the Instituto Autonomo Hospital Universitario de los Andes (IAHULA), with the objective of providing completely free intervention to 120 children from various municipalities of the entity, such as Chacantá, Bailadores, Zea and the metropolitan axis.
According to information issued by the Government, a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, nurses and anesthesiologists plans to operate a daily average of between 20 and 25 patients, whose ages range from 2 to 16 years of age, as reported by the single health authority, Moraima Salazar.
Salazar indicated that the pathologies treated are inguinal and umbilical hernias, among others, and stressed that this initiative is in addition to the permanent surgical plan that is being implemented in the state through the 31 operating rooms authorized in the entity.
The governor, Arnaldo Sánchez, reported that the day will be held simultaneously during this week at other healthcare centers such as the Los Sauzales Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI), the Los Curos Outpatient Clinic and the José Martí Clinic in the municipality of Campo Elías.
