The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, stated that “any military operation that does not have the approval of sister countries is an aggression against Latin America and the Caribbean.”

From his user on the social network X, the president of New Granada wrote “I publicly transmit my given order, as commander of the armed forces of Colombia”, while emphasizing that Colombia and Venezuela are the same people, the same flag, the same story”.

In that sense, he pointed out that any military operation “is a fundamental contradiction to our principle of Freedom. Freedom or death, Bolivar cried, and the people revolted.”

In another message that accompanied the message of the Venezuelan Presidential Honor Guard, he said that “the army that remains in what was once Gran Colombia will be the one that can proudly raise the standard of life, of the fundamental values of humanity, heirs of the sworn freedom of Bolívar.”

This statement by Petro is in addition to the one made this Saturday in which he dismissed the accusations of the United States (USA) against President Maduro and highlighted the decisive role of the Venezuelan ruler in the fight against drug trafficking.
