Through the social network Instagram, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, reported that the Kueka Grandmother Stone, repatriated from Germany after a long struggle of the Pemón people of Mapaurí, now has an Eco Museum next to the place where the rock Sagrada reposes next to Grandfather Kueka, in La Gran Sabana, Bolivar state.

“I came to this impressive place to accompany Josué Lorca, Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, to inaugurate this new exhibition space together with Captain Alejandra Loyola, leader of the Pemones of Mapaurí. Also present was Marianny Romero, Deputy Minister of Indigenous Peoples, representing Minister Clara Vidal,” she said.

He also recalled that Grandmother Kueka was kidnapped for 20 years in a park in Berlin, the German capital, after being illegally extracted by an artist who intervened her for her European exhibition.

He stressed that it was the Bolivarian Government that accompanied the struggle of the Pemón people until it achieved the repatriation of Kueka in 2020.
