Plan Venezuela Renace moves forward with the reconstruction of 9,055 homes affected by earthquakes

The Venezuela Renace Plan began the third phase of
reconstruction with a total of 9,055 homes being repaired
in La Guaira, Caracas and the seven states affected by the earthquakes of last June
24, said the president of the program, Jacqueline Fanía.
During a tour of urban planning, Ana Victoria, in the
state of La Guaira, Fanía explained that the technical evaluation of buildings
continues to advance and specified that, in the coastal entity, 49.3% of the
properties inspected received a green label, indicating that they are habitable.
He also noted that 23.5% were classified with a yellow
label because they had surface damage that required restrictions on
use, while 27.2% obtained a red label due to
structural risks that merit a deeper evaluation.
In an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he recalled
that the Presidential Commission for Housing Evaluation inspects the affected
buildings and clarified that not all buildings identified with a red label will be demolished.
In addition, he explained that specialists in structural engineering
and building pathology carry out the necessary studies and recalculations to
determine if they can be rehabilitated and then returned to their owners.
Fanía explained that in La Guaira, 2,926
homes are being rebuilt, including houses and apartments; in Caracas, 1,690; in Yaracuy,
2,700; and in Aragua, 918, in addition to other interventions in the rest of
the affected entities, to reach 9,055 homes currently undergoing recovery.
He added that the objective is to accelerate work so that
families who remain in temporary camps or outside their homes can
return to their homes in safe conditions.
