Hundreds of Caracas residents and visitors gathered in the Plaza de la Juventud, in the heart of the city, to enjoy the national concert “Our Four celebrates the 4th” as part of the celebration of the National Day of the Four, to reaffirm this instrument as the central axis of Venezuelan music.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture and the Mayor's Office of Caracas, is part of policies for the promotion and defense of cultural heritage, paying tribute to the instrument that was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest of the Nation, and which is a symbol of resistance and pride for Venezuelans.

The musical gala was more than a concert; it is a tribute to cultural identity where prominent cuatrists and local groups participated that demonstrated the versatility of this four-string instrument. The repertoire ranged from the traditional rhythms of the plain to the urban and contemporary expressions that define today's Caracas.

The audience enjoyed the talent of the National Typical Orchestra, led by Maestro Ángel Pérez, the groups Ensamble 4 and the popular music group Suena 4, performing their most representative songs. In addition to joropo, merengue from Caracas and dance.

Teachers and artists Lilia Vera and Cecilia Todd also offered their talents to vindicate four as a symbol of unity and cultural sovereignty in Venezuela.

“With Nuestro Cuatro celebrating the 4th, we are not only honoring a date, but the very essence of who we are. The four is the soul of our music and seeing it as the protagonist in the hands of our youth in this square is the guarantee that our culture will live on for generations”, highlighted the authorities present at the activity.

This free cultural offer was part of the special program for the promotion of national values, with the participation of great talents trained in the different cultural centers of the city.
