Pope Leo XIV reiterated that peace must be assumed as a firm commitment of States, according to a press release from Radio Miraflores.
During the prayer of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary in the Grotto of Lourdes, in the Vatican Gardens, the Pontiff focused his message on the need to listen to God as a way to rebuild coexistence and quoted in his prayer that the Lord “will speak of peace to his People”, which he linked to his call to keep attention on those who suffer the effects of armed conflicts.
Leo XIV reflected on the global situation and argued that humanity must rediscover hope in the face of current difficulties, so he asked to open our hearts to understand the meaning of historical events through prayer and to recognize God's action in their midst.
The Pope affirmed that peace is built when the cry of those who have been robbed of it is heeded, including children, families, people deprived of their liberty, refugees and populations facing prolonged violence, which connected with his constant call to listen to the most vulnerable.
