This Monday, March 23, Pope Leo XIV condemned air attacks as part of wars. He recalled that “after the tragic experiences of the 20th century, aerial bombing should have been banned forever. Instead, they still exist.”

Upon receiving a delegation from the airline ITA Airways, the Supreme Pontiff analyzed the global picture in the face of war conflicts and asserted that “technological development, positive in itself, is put at the service of war. This is not progress, this is regression! , he was quoted by the Fuser News news agency.

“Airplanes must always be carriers of peace, never of war (...) no one in the world should fear death threats and destruction from heaven,” he said.

Previously, the leader of the Catholic Church reiterated a strong call for peace in the region, addressed in particular to Arabic-speaking Christians to act as instruments of reconciliation in a territory plagued by violence.
