This Monday, February 9, the community leader and secretary of Popular Power and Communes of the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, José Pérez Sojo, assured that the National Popular Consultation “goes beyond a political party, which is why we believe that it is the center of participatory democracy, which is the first element, because the entire community participates.”

During an interview on the 360° program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), referring to the preparations for the first national consultation on March 08, in which residents of organized communities, from 15 years of age and older, can participate, he indicated that this unique process in Venezuela allows participation from the Citizens Assembly stage to the day of the vote, and even later or later, in the implementation of the chosen community projects.

“What is required is the willingness to go to the electoral center on March 8, to be clear about what the project is and to invite your neighbors to participate, that is what is sought,” he said.

He pointed out that Venezuela is the only nation in the world that consults the community what its priority problems are, resources are transferred to it and the projects are executed by the organized people themselves.

In that sense, he asserted that it is the greatest expression of participatory and leading democracy. “Let's search the world, let's search here in our continent, which country is developing this type of method that our Bolivarian Government is promoting,” he said.

Regarding the visit of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who made to the Almirante Lino Clemente Commune, in the Mirandino municipality, he confirmed that the inhabitants of the sector give full support to his administration.

“The first message sent to him by the people of the Sucre municipality was all the support of the People's Power and they have the full confidence to continue to promote the transformations guided by President Nicolás Maduro Moros,” he said.

He also assured that the commitment of the president in charge of the popular organization to continue working and to the deepening of participatory and leading democracy.

“This is going to be the first consultation and the People's Power expressed its gratitude to our president in charge of continuing to have as the central line of the Government's agenda the strengthening of Popular Power, which I think is one of the main flags to which we are called in this year 2026,” he said.
