The Portuguese community in Venezuela will celebrate the Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities with two free concerts in Caracas on June 12 and 13, led by renowned Portuguese guitarist and composer Pedro Jóia.

Under the title “Pedro Jóia: my guitar sounds like Portugal”, the presentations will take place on June 12 at 5:00 in the afternoon at the Humboldt Cultural Association, in San Bernardino, and on June 13 at 11:00 in the morning at the Concert Hall of the Central University of Venezuela. Both events will have free admission until capacity is reached.

The initiative, sponsored by the Embassy of Portugal in Venezuela, seeks to commemorate one of the most significant dates for the European nation through a musical program that highlights Portuguese tradition and cultural identity.

Pedro Jóia will be accompanied by the group Madragoa, the interpreter Sofía Castillo and the Belgian singer-songwriter Mari Bel, who will offer a repertoire that merges traditional Portuguese expressions with contemporary proposals.

The activities are part of the cultural agenda organized to strengthen ties between Portugal and Venezuela, as well as to bring the Caracas public closer to the musical and cultural events of the Portuguese community.
