A power autotransformer is traveling to the new 400 kV Portuguese Substation, located in the municipality of Páez, with the objective of curbing electricity fluctuations and favoring the plain region and the southwest of the country.

The work, which required an investment of 31 million euros, promises to start operating in the coming days.

The governor of the entity, Primitivo Cedeño, this infrastructure seeks to stabilize voltage and address what he described as a great weakness of the local system. In addition, the plant is expected to improve electricity supply not only in Portuguesa, but also in the states of Barinas, Trujillo, Mérida and the Alto Apure area.

In parallel, three 34.5 kV voltage regulators are planned to be installed in Guanarito. The authorities assure that this equipment will mitigate the severe power cuts that impact families and agricultural producers in the area.
