Civil Protection and Disaster Management personnel remain on alert in the upper area of the Portuguese state, specifically in the Unda municipality, where rivers and streams have increased their water levels due to the prolonged rains recorded in recent hours.
The agency reported that flows are showing moderate increases, so they are deployed in the territory monitoring the behavior of the waters in real time and “carrying preventive alerts house to house”.
The official report indicates that although the growth of water bodies is not critical, in Unda there are areas that are historically flooded and therefore the call for extreme caution, especially for those who live in areas close to the riverbeds .
Civil Protection also reports that in some sectors there has already been damage due to undermining and landslides, so those who live in high-risk areas are advised to evacuate at any warning.
