The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted this Wednesday the paramount importance of the presidential elections on July 28, which represent a great commitment for revolutionary forces and for the entire people.
“All elections are important, you all know that, but the commitment of the 28th is an almost existential commitment. Venezuela, the homeland of Bolivar and Chávez, is the center of attention,” said Cabello from Guanare, in the Portuguese state, during a march in support of the People's candidate, Nicolás Maduro.
He recalled that for election day, more than 97 countries have secured their presence as observers. “We will ask ourselves why so many countries have to come to Venezuela to see elections, because Venezuela is a small country, why so many people come from outside. These people come to see here a people that have resisted, that has fought and has defeated imperialism,” he stressed.
In this regard, he criticized the intentions of some countries, allies of imperialism and the extreme right, to interfere in the electoral process without being invited.
“They are rice farmers, some who believe that Venezuela is a colony and are going to come here to see how the elections are made. Come here to learn how to actually make elections with the People on the street, participating. And the worst thing is that those immorals, who no one has invited them, come to see the elections in Venezuela and they have a king in their country,” Cabello rejected.
