President (E) Rodríguez signed agreements with Miyamoto International to strengthen seismic risk management

This Friday, September 4
, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez,
signed agreements with Miyamoto International to incorporate her experience in structural
engineering and seismic risk management into the
reconstruction work following the earthquakes that occurred on July 24.
After the signing of the agreement, the
sectoral vice-president of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez, stressed that the Miyamoto company team
“joins the National Government's work team
for everything that is the plan for the collection and removal of traces that were left as a result of the seismic double”.
In this regard, he indicated that the collection of
rubble is a work that has been carried out in an articulated manner with various organizations.
At the same time, he assured that all these teams, together with the People's Power, are going
to “consolidate everything that the state of La Guaira requires for its
total reconstruction and rebirth.”
For his part, the Japanese businessman, Hideki
“Kit” Miyamoto, reaffirmed the importance of this agreement and assured that they have
already been working on the first phase of it, which is related to
the evaluation of structures affected by earthquakes.
He also specified that the more than 3 million tons of debris caused by the earthquakes will be removed from La Guaira, assuring that they are working together with the Venezuelan private sector for this purpose. “We have combined capacities and it is part of our goal to work together with the Venezuelan population,” he said.
