President-in-charge announces creation of the National Office for Defense and Cyber Security

This Wednesday, January 28, the president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and commander in chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Delcy Rodríguez, announced the creation of the National Office for Defense and Cyber Security of Venezuela, an instance that will be attached to the Council of Vice-Presidents and aimed at strengthening the country's protection in the digital sphere.

In that regard, he noted that the United States has already publicly acknowledged that it “used unknown weapons. What brought the fighters to their last breaths was their love for Venezuela, for the Republic and for the Venezuelan people.”

The information was provided from the spaces of the Venezuelan Military Academy, in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas, where the honors were held as Commander in Chief of the FANB, together with the Public Security Bodies.

He specified that this office will be chaired by the sector vice-president of Science, Technology and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, who will assume responsibility for coordinating national policies and strategies in the area of cybersecurity.
