President in Charge authorized the extension of the Plan to deal with the yellow fever outbreak to 10 states of the country

The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, this Wednesday, May 6, authorized the health team of the Bolivarian Government to extend the Plan to deal with the yellow fever outbreak from four entities to 10 states of the country.

He recalled that the current plan against yellow fever, which began last February, focused on free intensive vaccination in 22 priority parishes in the states of Lara, Barinas, Portuguesa and Aragua.

“In these states, we are in full development of the plan, and you have asked to incorporate six more states,” he said at the Miraflores Palace, from where he led the delivery of medical supplies and rehabilitated spaces in health centers in various states of the country.

In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, pointed out that the progress in the above-mentioned four states has been quite acceptable with 68%, we are not finished, we have to continue in Lara, Barinas, Portuguesa and Aragua, where we aim to reach 90%.”

He specified that the other six states are Guárico, Monagas, Sucre, Apure, Yaracuy and Cojedes, “to continue making progress in view of the fact that we have the vaccines.”

“So far, 793,455 doses have been administered for yellow fever, in a single dose that protects for life,” he said.
