This Friday, May 15, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Bank, Susana Cordeiro Guerra, together with a delegation from the multilateral institution.
The meeting, held at the Miraflores Palace, reviewed by Venezolana de Televisión, took place after the resumption of relations between Venezuela and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a fact that the national president in charge announced on April 16.
On that occasion, the president indicated that Venezuela regains its representation in this international body, of which it has been a part since 1946,
“A victory for our country's diplomacy and a very important step for the Venezuelan economy,” he said.
At this meeting, the authorities explored and presented the advances in the Venezuelan economy, as well as the vulnerabilities derived from the global economic environment.
Cordeiro Guerra was accompanied by economic policy officials for the Americas and the Caribbean region, in addition to the World Bank's director of operations strategy for the region.
The Venezuelan delegation was attended by the Sectorial Vice President of Economy, Calixto Ortega; the Minister of Popular Power for Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira; and the Vice President of Finance of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Cristian Hernández.
In this new phase of dialogue, the parties established an agenda to generate employment, attract investment and support economic growth in the country.
