President in charge oversaw infrastructure works at Simón Bolívar Airport

This Saturday, January 31, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, oversaw the infrastructure works being carried out at the facilities of the Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía International Airport, in the state of La Guaira, with the objective of strengthening the country's Transportation and Tourism Engine.
Rodríguez evaluated each of the works that have been carried out within the airport facilities, among which the major works aimed at strengthening air service in the country stand out, which are progressing under the coordination of the Ministry of People's Power for Transport.
In addition, among the works carried out, the construction of the largest runway in the country, capable of landing wide-body aircraft, stands out, as well as the installation of different machines for security and control at the airport.
As for the area's extensive commercial and hotel network, it should be noted that Maiquetía International Airport is connected to the Gran Cacique Maiquetía Hotel, which is within its facilities, and was recently inaugurated by President Nicolás Maduro, and which offers great advantages for recreation, leisure and local tourism, according to the Presidential Press.
Also present during the inspection were the Minister for Transportation, Aníbal Coronado; the president of the Maiquetía International Airport Institute, Rolando Alcalá; the Minister of the Office of the Presidency, Juan Escalona; and the Minister of Communication, Miguel Pérez Pirela.
