The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that there is currently less international law in the world with each passing day, as demonstrated by the military aggression against Venezuela by the United States government.

“What happened in Venezuela in the early morning of January 03 of this year is an example of this. It is a violation of international law, the attack, external military aggression, the kidnapping of a Head of State and a First Lady, in addition to a deputy of the Republic, cannot but mean that there is less law in the world,” he said.

This was stated in the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), on the occasion of the Opening of Judicial Activities 2026, where he maintained that “we already knew this when we had to witness situations as painful as the genocide in Palestine. When I listened to Venezuelan boys and girls their pain because of the aggression that morning.”

He also paid tribute “to those who died fighting that January 3rd, under conditions of great inequality, both Venezuelans and Cubans, but I am citizens of the Great Homeland, who fought in the name of our Latin America and the Caribbean (...) defending international legality. Honor and Glory to our fighters.”

“Less international law has led to limitations and restrictions on national rights and that is why I come here as President in Charge and in an unprecedented situation for our Republic,” she stressed.

He also thanked the Supreme Court for taking the lead in the face of acts of military aggression by the United States against Venezuela, to protect constitutional order and national sovereignty, “to give administrative continuity to the Venezuelan State, but above all else to protect the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with courage and honesty.”
