The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday the creation of a museum in honor of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, forerunner of Independence.
During the 73rd edition of his show Con Maduro+, the head of state questioned the existence of a building built on the house where Miranda lived in Caracas, on the corner of Padre Sierra in the center of the capital.
“In front of the Federal Legislative Palace, there is a building there from the 1950s that was built after the collapse of nothing more and nothing less than the house where Francisco de Miranda lived as a child in Venezuela (...) So that you can see how capitalism destroyed everything, oil rentism, the madness of that mercenary, parasitic, thieving oligarchy,” he criticized.
In this regard, he indicated that “a project has emerged to turn that corner of Padre Sierra and his entire establishment into a museum in honor of Francisco de Miranda and to be Francisco de Miranda's center for Venezuela and for America.”
