President Maduro announces 88 major mobilizations in the country to kick off electoral campaign

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday that the Simon Bolivar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) will start the electoral campaign, ahead of the regional and legislative elections on May 25, with 88 major mobilizations across the territory.

“Tomorrow the 29th, this republican, sovereign, democratic, free Venezuela begins the electoral campaign for the elections of May 25, where the people of Venezuela in a sovereign and free way will elect deputies of the new National Assembly and governors and governors of the country's 24 states and the 24 legislative councils (...) We are going to start the electoral campaign with 88 major mobilizations in all the states, municipalities and parishes of the country”, the Head of State reported during the 77th edition of his program Con Maduro+.

In this regard, he called on the People “to a pedagogical, proactive, joyful, happy, participatory campaign and to a campaign that will lead us to win the country's 24 governorates and the overwhelming majority of the National Assembly to guarantee political stability and the development of the economic recovery plan.”

He recalled that 54 political parties and more than 6,500 candidates registered for this democratic day. “There are candidates of all kinds. I welcome him as constitutional head of state, I welcome all the candidates who registered and I call on them to carry out a truly edifying electoral campaign that creates democratic values, that urges the people to participate and that the people decide who they want to be their governor, their governor, their deputy, their deputy and Venezuela to follow its democratic rhythm,” he urged.
