The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, presented the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award, in the International category, to the Iranian presenter Sahar Emami this Thursday.
Emami, the famous presenter of Iranian state television IRIB, was conducting a news segment when she was hit by an Israeli attack on the channel last June.
During the inauguration of the Juana Ramírez La Avanzadora Socialist Mission Base, in Sarría, Caracas, the Head of State emphasized that this journalist “went on to the beautiful story of our people's struggle.”
The Dignitary pointed out that “the Zionists tried to silence Emami with a missile and they could not and will not be able to (...) I have the Simon Bolivar National Journalism Award, in its International award, because I knew I was going to give it to you. But the most beautiful thing is that I am giving it to you here in front of our sacred mountain, the Waraira Reparo. And in this neighborhood in the north of Caracas,” he said.
He stressed that giving this award to Emami represents giving it to all the people of Iran, who “will always count on Venezuela.
