The president of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised this Monday the musical
legacy of the master José Antonio Abreu, to whom he paid tribute for the seventh anniversary of his planting.
“If we think of
a Venezuelan who has practiced so many values in life, consistent in
thought, word and action, without a doubt, Master José
Antonio Abreu comes to mind, whom we had to say goodbye with great pain 7 years ago,” said
the Head of State through his Telegram channel.
The Dignitary
described Abreu as “a very cultured man, of extreme humility, simplicity and
perseverance, who bequeathed to us his philosophy of conceiving music as an
instrument of social transformation, of overcoming needs and
poverty, which was transformed into a great miracle: more than 1 million boys, girls and young people in The System”.
Finally, he stressed
that Maestro Abreu “was a patriot and Bolivarian who decided to sow and
harvest in Venezuela to build what we are: a musical power, an
example for the world”.
