President Maduro closes international seminar on the pharmaceutical sector

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, from the Venezuelan Hydrocarbons University, closed the first International Seminar on Sustainable Pharmacy, where he recalled the importance of the sovereignty of the sector to guarantee the health of the people

During this seminar, 12 working groups were held with the purpose of promoting a policy of access to medicines that prioritizes sustainability, national production and advocating for the comprehensive health of Venezuelans.

The activity was attended by four pharmaceutical chambers in the country, as well as rectors and representatives of national universities. The Pharmaceutical Engine involves the employment of more than 30 thousand Venezuelan citizens, more than five thousand engineering specialists in technical areas, drug formulation, quality and stability studies.

President Maduro is accompanied by the Vice President for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, and the Minister for Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, highlighted the importance of the 1st International Seminar on Sustainable Pharmacy.

“We have reviewed the full report on the working groups and the scope of this seminar, for the reengineering that must be done to the concept of health in our country, learning from global experiences and building new solutions,” he said.
