The President of the Republic sent greetings to the heroic people of Nicaragua, to their Government represented in the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) led by the president, Daniel Ortega, and the first lady, Rosario Murillo, in commemoration of the 130th birthday of the general of free men and women, Augusto César Sandino.
“From Venezuela, we send our affection and admiration to sister Sandinista and rebel Nicaragua, who today celebrates the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Hero of Dignity and National Sovereignty, the great Augusto C. Sandino. To say Sandino is to summarize the life of a Bolivarian who defeated the imperialist troops with the army of free men, throwing fear behind his back, to save the Nicaraguan homeland. General Sandino fought for Bolivar's dream for Central and Latin America, and the time came to make it a reality. The right to the future is not begged for, it is conquered through work, rebellion and perseverance. Long live his legacy!” , the president wrote on his social media account.
