The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the country's economic achievements this Friday in the midst of the criminal blockade imposed by U.S. imperialism and its internal and external allies.
During a telephone call at the close of the International Seminar on Economic Development, which is being held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, the Head of State stressed that Venezuela is developing a new diversified economy, aimed at meeting domestic needs.
He pointed out that it is a model that “produces goods, satisfies the life of Venezuela and also produces wealth, produces physical and monetary wealth that allows us to fulfill the objective of an economy. What is the objective of the economy? It has to be the human being, society, social rights as contemplated in our Constitution, a humanist model, to guarantee social rights,” he emphasized.
He recalled that the South American nation has been through an economic war, “everything has been done to us, but they couldn't handle us nor will they. We have already taken the path of growth, of a new model and we have achieved record and miraculous numbers of food production and supply of the domestic market. Remember in the world the photos of Venezuela with empty shelves, that ended forever with domestic production,” said the President.
The Dignitary indicated that Venezuela has the lowest inflation figure in 20 years, “with the growth of the real economy, especially the non-oil economy,” which contrasts with what is happening in Argentina, where “they kill the industrial apparatus, they kill the economy, (Javier) Milei destroys everything and then says that he has fiscal achievements,” he criticized.
In this regard, he stressed that in Venezuela “it is with economic growth and with the distribution of wealth, with investment in social rights, in housing, public education, public health, the income of workers, improvement of pensions step by step, rising or rising like a phoenix from the ashes.”
