The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his strongest rejection and repudiation of the attack that the former president and candidate for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump, suffered this Saturday during a campaign rally.

“On behalf of the entire Venezuela, of our people, I want to reject the attack against former President Donald Trump, to wish him his speedy recovery and may God bless the people of the United States and give them peace and tranquility,” he said.

He pointed out that Trump has been a political adversary of the Bolivarian Revolution, but he confirmed his desire for “health and long life” for the former US president, while reiterating his condemnation of this fact.

“He repudiated that attack,” he insisted and recalled that, like the Republican candidate, his person has been the subject of several attacks such as the one that occurred on August 4, 2018, where drones were used with explosive charges.

“I too was the victim of an attack and 100 other attempts to kill myself, but God always put his hand in and here we are healthy, alive and victorious, ready to see her face to the future,” he said.
