The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, awarded the 'Francisco de Miranda Order', in his First Class, to the Cuban ambassador in Caracas, Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera, in recognition of his outstanding diplomatic work and his contribution to strengthening relations of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

This protocol event, held at the Miraflores Palace, marks the culmination of Rodríguez's six-year diplomatic mission to the country, focused on deepening the strategic bilateral alliance for the benefit of the two sister peoples.

The Venezuelan Dignitary highlighted the trajectory and experience accumulated by the Cuban diplomat at the heart of the Bolivarian Revolution, and framed his management within the Caribbean tradition of struggle and resistance.

“Comrade Dagoberto, who graduated in the 70s from the powerful diplomatic school of the Cuban Revolution, has a lot to say and a lot to tell for the history of revolutionary diplomacy between the peoples of the Caribbean,” said the Head of State.
