As part of his work schedule in the Russian Federation, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met with the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexandr Beglov, with whom he toured the Government Palace, “Smolny”.
During the meeting, the Venezuelan head of state thanked “the affectionate and affectionate treatment” he received with his delegation in the Russian city. “We have been filled with the impressive history of this place, with the heroics and resistance in Leningrad,” he said.
For his part, Governor Beglov recalled that the foundations of fraternal relations between Russia and Venezuela “were laid by Vladimir Putin and Hugo Chávez. Our countries, despite the aggressive policies of the West, share and defend the right to a multipolar and free world,” he said.
In this regard, President Maduro noted that “Commander Chávez began this journey with President Putin”, stressing that “it has been worth it, we have sown respect, love and solidarity between the peoples of Russia and Venezuela”.
