President Maduro on Lina Ron: An Example of Loyalty and Revolutionary Commitment

“Today the People remember the eternal combatant and comrade Lina Ron, who rose to immortality 13 years ago, leaving a life of social struggle as an example of loyalty and revolutionary commitment. Honor your legacy! ”, wrote the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, on his account of the social network X.

The publication of the head of state responds to the commemoration of the 13th anniversary of the planting of the female combatant, who showed, among many other virtues, loyalty to every test to the revolutionary process and to Commander Hugo Chávez.

Lina Ninette Ron Pereira was born in Anaco, Anzoátegui state, on September 23, 1959. Her leadership role was evident from her time at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in the Committee on Popular Struggles (CLP), where she protested in favor of students and informal vendors.

Ron was a faithful follower of Commander Hugo Chávez since he came to power, being one of the most passionate supporters and founder of the left-wing political party called Unión Popular .
