The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, set a goal of delivering 1 million loans to new entrepreneurs in a year.
“From August 2024 to the same month of 2025, we have to achieve the goal of providing 1 million in funding to new entrepreneurs,” said the Head of State, during a meeting with entrepreneurs, held at the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas.
Maduro explained that it will be a joint effort through the Public Bank, Credimujer, Credioven and the Entrepreneurship Fund.
“We are providing almost 100,000 monthly loans, if
we maintain that pace we can achieve that goal,” said Maduro.
In that regard, he urged private banks to join the
initiative, “if we at the public level can meet a
minimum goal of 1 million in financing in a year, I believe that
private banks can make the effort and provide 500 thousand new
loans.”
For her part, the
Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that the necessary
contacts have already been made with public banks to join and they are
determined to join.
