The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, considered that the Simon Bolivar Liberation Organic Law against the Imperialist Blockade and for the Defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is in defense of justice, with an institutional profile to bring order to those who intend to destabilize the country, in the face of groups that turn their opposition work into lackeys of the empire.
“We will protect the country and maintain institutionality with law, order and institutions. Let's continue to build consensus with ordinary men and women,” he said.
This was emphasized in his program “Maduro Live Suddenly”, referring to this legal instrument approved this Thursday, November 28, by the National Assembly (AN).
He stressed that the Simon Bolivar Liberator Organic Law responds to the “infamous law of the United States Congress, which has generated indignation in Venezuela and in the world.”
“If imperialism tightens its march to try to harm Venezuela, we fight back to do good for the people,” he emphasized.
On the subject, the first combatant, Cilia Flores de Maduro, said that “this Law was the product of national consensus, the People demand justice and that there be no impunity.”
“The National Assembly accepted these requests. It is appropriate that, through this Act, it can be tried in absentia,” he said.
He stressed that “the justice system cannot be paralyzed even those aggrieved by criminal action, by those who flee the country in the face of a criminal act. There needs to be justice.”
“A person who inflicts such great harm on the Republic cannot then be a political actor of the State,” he said.
For her part, the deputy of the AN, Tania Díaz, said that the Liberator Simón Bolívar Organic Law “establishes the mechanisms to do justice, even if the traitors have left the country.”
“The Venezuelan justice system will now be able to judge them, even in their absence,” he said.
Díaz asserted that this law “will strengthen the defense of the Venezuelan people against aggressions, and it will do justice to those who harm the country.”
Likewise, the deputy Juan Carlos Mogollón, argued that the law is “a cry of the people before the approval of the Organic Liberator Law Simón Bolívar is to prevent impunity.”
He stated that the crime of treason will have a maximum penalty of 30 years, as established by the National Constitution. “The political disqualification established in the Libertador Simón Bolívar Organic Law can be up to 60 years old,” he explained.
