President Maduro: The country closed the first half of the year with GDP growth of 7.71%

Venezuela closed the first half of 2025, with a growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 7.71%, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported this Monday, August 4, in the 87th broadcast of the Con Maduro+ program.
He explained that “in Venezuela, during the first two quarters of the year 2025, it registered growth of 9% and 6.65%, respectively, which allows us to estimate, based on preliminary statistical data, a growth of 7.71% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first half of this year.”
He specified that the country has experienced “17 continuous quarters and we are the country with the highest growth in the entire region.”
He stressed that this growth consolidates Venezuela's economy as one of the best in Latin America, since it exceeds the projections of international organizations.
The head of state provided a summary of the report issued by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), referring to economic transformation.
In this regard, he specified that among the economic activities that have driven this growth are: the hydrocarbons sector: 14.99%, “recovering with its own lungs” and the mining sector: 11.23%.
He also mentioned the food and lodging sector with 8.23%; trade at 7.19% and the information sector at 7.13%.
He also noted that bank credit has grown in the last 12 months, by 21.8% and tax collection grew by 12.8% in the first half of 2025.
