The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that “we have faced all the formulas that interventionist models have developed to impose themselves, above all, we have persevered on the path of constitutionality and dialogue”.
This was stated in his program this Monday, August 4th With Maduro + opportunity in which he added that “at various times the Venezuelan opposition has been taken over by the United States (USA) (...) it is an increasingly minority fraction of a group outside the constitution and eminently coup plotters, criminals”.
“This people no longer want guarimbas, they don't want more violence, they don't want more conspiracy. So I think that today is August 4th it is very important to make us aware that the peace we have is a conquest. You have to take care of it and you have to keep building it because the world is crazy,” he emphasized.
The head of state stressed that on July 28, 2024, the presidential election was held under threats from the extreme right.
“They were going to leave Venezuela without electricity at noon on July 28 and on the night of July 28 they attacked all the country's computer systems and destroyed the computer system of the National Electoral Council, among other things. You know what we went through 29 and 30 and the control we did on these violent groups,” he recalled.
He added that in order for the elections of the National Assembly and governorates to take place on May 25, “you don't know what we did, what we went through, the attempts that were made to destroy electrical systems, to attack key places in the country, even now so that the elections of July 27 could be peaceful and quiet, the same thing, so we have fought a great battle.”
