The Bolivarian Government must be the driving force behind rural production processes, and act to resolve all types of issues in the agro-producer sector, stressed the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
In this regard, he pointed out that “we must make a joint effort, with those who produce, with what they know, but with the Venezuelan State and its capacity to guarantee financing, machinery and offer all the conditions to the producer, aimed at irrigating the land.”
In the broadcast of the number issue of his programs “With Maduro +”, in the segment with the Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia and rice producers in the country, he specified that it is necessary to improve planning systems, with scientific support for yield per hectare in each category.
“We are configuring the virtuous circuit,” he said.
He stressed that a first goal is to produce to supply the country internally, “and then to always think big, about international markets. Who doesn't eat rice? The Chinese, with 1.4 billion inhabitants, have a natural market for Venezuelan rice there. The same thing in India, which is a producer of quality rice, is a market as well.”
He added that it's “a matter of specializing in Latin American and Caribbean markets, but thinking big on the world's big markets.”
“One day, sooner rather than later, from what you're seeing, we're going to reach those markets,” he said.
The head of state said that in Venezuela, “we are coming to the moment when the Production, Supply and Export Plan (PAE) moves from production and supply to export.”
“Today in 2025, with the scientific, industrial and technological capacity that Venezuela has, we are able to replace everything, everything, practically everything we import,” he stressed.
