The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, this Friday urged member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to remain united despite differences.

“ Our path must be unity in diversity, it is the great path, not only of Latin America and the Caribbean, but of humanity, because if the extremist criteria of the right-wing dragged down the gringos, the Yankees, then the UN (United Nations Organization) should not exist, the UN should disappear, where 194 countries of different cultures, religions and ideologies live together,” said the Venezuelan head of state in statements prior to his speech at the 8th Summit of the regional bloc, from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

In this regard, he stated that “those who attack CELAC and the path of UNASUR (Union of South American Nations) and the path of integration founded by Bolívar by San Martín, will dry up, will remain dry in history.”
