The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged the management of the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) to “refine the methodological work to put an end to what they call the illusion of not paying taxes.”
In the El Sofa segment of his program “With Maduro Live Suddenly”, he explained that monetary wealth, in addition to production in multiple economic spheres, is also generated through various types of taxes.
In this regard, he urged paying the Income Tax (ISLR), which “is in full development”, as well as the Value Added Tax (VAT), “and other types of pecking that exist in the State, to the national public and private businesses, and oil revenues, which continue to be an important element.”
The National President recalled that “Venezuela was almost 100% dependent for 120 years on oil revenue and that's where the missiles were directed from criminal sanctions and persecution in that first stage, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and we designed a war economy plan to stabilize the country, to resist”.
In this context, he expressed the need to achieve in the medium term “we have the plan to achieve this, to break dependence on oil revenues and for society as a whole to produce wealth in international convertible currencies, so that we have an exchange monetary system, as stable and healthy as we can achieve”.
