President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed the anti-imperialist character of Venezuela and the ignorance of the International Court of Justice in the face of the controversy with Guyana.

Through his account on the social network X, the head of state wrote: “Venezuela does not accept, nor will it accept, judicial colonialism, as a nation we have never recognized that the International Court of Justice resolves the border dispute over the Essequibo. It's a historic position that we will always maintain.”

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through its government, has been emphatic in its ignorance of this institution for the resolution of the Essequibo territory, while affirming that the Treaty of Geneva is the only valid document to settle the dispute.
