President Maduro visited the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg

This Saturday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, visited the Fortress of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, and fired the customary Artillery Piece Firing, also known as The Taking of the Middle, from the walls of that fortress.

The Head of State highlighted the work of the historical hero, Francisco de Miranda, and the recognition of the anniversary of the Victory of the Great Patriotic War.

“I had the dream of South American independence, and his name was Francisco de Miranda, who was a colonel in the Russian Army and the Generalissimo of the Liberators of South America. We have come to remember his memory and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War,” said the head of state.
