President of Honduras temporarily takes on creatine from Defensa

Last Tuesday, the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, announced that she will temporarily assume the title of the Secretariat of Defense after the resignation of Rixi Moncada.

Moncada's resignation comes in compliance with the Constitution to assume the candidacy for the presidency of Honduras by the ruling Libertad y Refundación (Libre) party in the elections of November 30.

In a communication published on her account on the social network X, President Castro reported that “the functions of the Secretariat of National Defense will be temporarily assumed by me, in my capacity as General Commander of the Armed Forces.”

He also reported that he appointed the current ambassador to Washington, lawyer Javier Efraín Bú Soto, as the new chancellor of the Republic.
