The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, specified the need to create a university cocoa institute, “so that our people learn about this field directly in the field, planting and harvesting”.
From his social networks, he specified that the proposal came about during “a meeting with the cocoa family of the state of Miranda, at the Center for Cocoa Research, Development and Innovation”.
In addition, at a meeting he held with the economic and productive cocoa sector, held at the National Center for Cocoa Research, Development and Innovation (CENIDIC), he said that he will submit the proposal to the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
“We have to propose to the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, that a university cocoa institute be created. That people are trained, that they come. But not in Caracas, you put it here. And that students learn about cacao by planting it, harvesting it, drying it, fermenting it, processing it, selling the cocoa product. And the law just allows it,” he said.
