This Friday, the president of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on “the powers that have influence over Israel”, so that they “do not fall into the trap” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and become accomplices in the crimes.

“The Israeli Zionist government ruthlessly murders children and women, expands its policy of illegal occupation on a daily basis, without any beginning. It uses hunger as a weapon (...) places of worship and hospitals are bombed,” said the president during a youth forum for Islamic cooperation in Istanbul.

Israel, which today complains about the damage suffered to its hospitals, has carried out more than 700 attacks on health centers in Gaza alone... It's brazen and shameless to talk about war crimes today,” Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader stated that “the main culprit of the genocide in Gaza is the Netanyahu Government, and those who are silent about it have also become complicit in this crime.”

He also assured that his country is “willing to support and contribute to any sincere measure” to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East. “We don't want to see more war, chaos or civilian deaths.”
