From the social network X, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, rejected the false accusations made by the Secretary of the United States Department of Justice, Pamela Bondi against President Nicolás Maduro and emphasized that the Venezuelan head of state “has helped us decisively defeat drug trafficking at the border.”

Petro criticized the political use that the North American nation makes of justice and argued that “justice must be independent of the government, from Alaska to Patagonia.”

“I don't agree that Latin American blood should be shed by imposition,” he said, referring to these actions by the United States that seek to promote destabilization and violence within nations.

The publication was accompanied by a video with statements by Rodrigo Uprimny, academic and justice researcher, who adds that "(...) the interference of the United States (US) in Colombia, when the Secretary of Justice of that country comes out to tell us how to administer justice when they have a convicted president, should not be (...) What the United States is pushing the world to stop the powerful from being persecuted.”
