Presidents of Russia and Venezuela hold important meeting in the Kremlin

This Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, held an important meeting with his counterpart from the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, at the Kremlin, located in Moscow, in order to strengthen cooperation ties between the two nations.
“I want to convey to you the feelings of admiration of the Venezuelan people or; we are open to continue working together and very happy to commemorate the great victory of the Patriotic War,” President Maduro told his counterpart.
Then, both leaders signed a treaty of strategic cooperation and mutual support, and reaffirmed the need to intensify cooperation in health, medical training and vaccine development. They agreed that they will carry out an exchange in scientific research and technological innovation.
“This is a good time, we are here in Russia with a high-level delegation to take a leap in comprehensive cooperation in all matters. With the treaty that we will sign, we will see relations between this power and Venezuela flourish, which will continue in the ideal of Bolívar and Hugo Chávez,” he stressed.
For his part, President Vladimir Putin stressed: “We support your efforts to achieve mutual understanding in your society, as well as all your actions aimed at fixing your situation with the opposition.”
On the other hand, he said that “we remember our friend Hugo Chávez very well”, and described the Venezuelan president as “a very important leader, not only for his country, but for all of Latin America”, in addition to the entire Venezuelan nation. The Russian president added that “we wish them all the best”.
Venezuela becomes the first country to raise relations with the Russian Federation to the highest political level. In this regard, nations will develop joint plans in the military, economic, energy, technological and political areas.
