The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, invited the country's new democratic opposition to take part and participate in building a peaceful political and social life for all Venezuelans.

In his Con Maduro+ program this Monday, August 4th, he recalled the seven-year anniversary of the assassination attempt against him.

“This was a clear expression of the extremist right that caused a rift in the nation's social, political and economic stability and, therefore, a geopolitical confrontation against the empire and its representatives in Venezuela,” he said.

In that vein, he said that “we have an obligation to build a stable country, the opposition has its form of expression, its public and its people.”

He added that he hopes that the new opposition will have a democratic vocation and will hold office in a loyal manner with the peace of the country and with the people.
