The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, this Thursday, July 31, called on the international justice system to coordinate actions with the judicial and criminal structure of Venezuela, so that the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, is sanctioned and punished for the kidnapping and abuse of 252 Venezuelan migrants in the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT).
During the program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he urged that international organizations speak out and act in coordination with the Public Ministry (MP) to achieve this end, in addition to setting a precedent against other unethical leaders.
“It has to have an impact on the International Criminal Court for it to be subject to a criminal human rights investigation,” he said.
On the other hand, he reported that CECOT employees were oriented to induce migrants to commit suicide, through the continuous physical and mental abuse to which they were subjected.
“What happened is very serious, extremely serious, systematic and constant torture, a plurality of crime,” he said.
He also specified that 80 officials were arranged between prosecutors, psychiatrists and doctors to treat compatriots, and were interviewed respectively.
Saab also denounced the kidnapping of 33 Venezuelan children by the United States government, an action that corresponds to the hybrid war that the North American country is carrying out against Venezuela.
“It is to alert this people that they are using all the weapons they had and to have,” he said.
He also argued that during March 30, the MP decided to maintain communications with Salvadoran organizations such as the Supreme Court and the Public Prosecutor's Office, which responded within 80 days to validate Bukele's actions and question the presence of such migrants within CECOT, despite the fact that the Central American president issued propaganda to brag about the kidnapping of Venezuelans.
