This Saturday, March 15, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) convened members of the members of the Grassroots Assemblies in the 47,553 communities of the country to nominate their candidates for the positions of governors, deputies to the National Assembly (AN) and legislators of the country's legislative councils ahead of the elections of May 25.

On the day that will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon, anyone over 15 years of age can participate. In addition, in this process of participatory and leading democracy, the militancy of the other parties of the Great Patriotic Pole is also called for.

The process, which will be led by the head of the community, who must inform in advance the place where it will take place, will have three moments: in the first, the nominations for governors and governors will be presented; in the second moment, those corresponding to the legislators of the legislative council; and finally, the third moment, in which the candidates for deputies for the AN will be presented.

In addition, after the end of the day, the head of the community must upload a list consisting of all the names without counting applications to the CC200 PSUV platform.

During the press conference, the general secretary of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, emphasized that this will be “an open and popular consultation and must be a process of fraternal, inclusive, unitary and supportive encounter, of equals who contribute to the strengthening of the unity and morals of our people.”

In addition, he invited the militancy to participate in these days without any pressure. “The line is that there is no line; go and apply to whoever you want, free of pressure, free of any form of intentionality to favor someone in particular, don't eat coba on anyone, the application is free and without pressure,” he said.
