Public defenders will give talks on gender-based violence in schools

The general public defender, Daniel Ramírez Herrera, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Social Protection for Women's Rights, Marjorie Moreno, with the purpose of articulating actions that strengthen access to justice in the special area of crimes of violence against women, including training talks on the subject in schools in the country, in order to serve this population.

Ramírez informed the team present at the meeting that during a working table of the Mercosur Public Defenders Bloc (Blodepm), they analyzed and debated the issue regionally and added that “they made a preliminary report where each nation presented a diagnosis of this competence, which will be presented in the coming days at the Regular Annual Session of Mercosur”.

In addition, the representative of the agency noted that in educational units of the national territory, training talks will be given on the special subject of crimes of violence against women by public defenders, as well as by officials and officials of the Office of Citizen Services (OAC).”

The meeting was attended by the director of Public Defense Procedural Action, Luis Alfredo Pérez; the representative of the Criminal Judicial Circuit, Alí Rodríguez; the head of the division for adolescent criminal liability of the Public Defense, Gabriela Zambrano and the deputy of the National Assembly (AN), Carlos Mogollón.
