Public Ministry to investigate kidnapping of two-year-old girl by the United States

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, appointed the national prosecutor's office 92 for the protection of children and adolescents, in order to investigate the complaint of Yorelis Bernal, a recently repatriated migrant, that the United States Government kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter while she was in the process of deportation.

In this regard, the Attorney General pointed out that “the unprecedented kidnapping of this girl adds to the cruel method used to separate her from her parents: because in this case the father of the 2-year-old child has been illegally transferred from the United States to a concentration camp in El Salvador and the mother has also been deported from the USA but without her young daughter to Venezuela”.

He also explained that the recent statement issued by the American Association of Jurists (AAJ) confirms that the government of El Salvador is committing crimes against humanity against Venezuelan migrants illegally transferred from the United States.

“They reaffirm something that we have been denouncing since day one and that is that the United States government and Bukele would be co-responsible for crimes against humanity,” he explained.

“Bukele drowns his people inside El Salvador and moves his tyranny beyond its borders by legitimizing, as he wanted to misinterpret with his despotic way of acting, the kidnapping, forced disappearance and the cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment that his government has applied to 252 Venezuelans who are kidnapped in the CECOT,” he said.
