Raiber Rodríguez joined the list of qualifiers for Venezuela for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the discipline of Greco-Roman wrestling in the Olympic Qualifying Championship that kicked off this Wednesday, February 28 in Acapulco, Mexico.

Rodríguez, beat Colombian Dicther Toro in the semifinals and this gave him direct passage to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games in this qualifying tournament of the Americas, which awards two tickets per division.

The native of Barinas is the first Venezuelan wrestler to sign up for the Olympic Games and the number of qualifiers for Venezuela increased to nine, along with Yulimar Rojas (athletics), Alfonso Mestre (swimming), Omailyn Alcalá (boxing), Douglas Gómez (shooting), Leonel Martínez (shooting), Patricia Ferrando (equestrian), Luis Fernando Larrazábal (equestrian) and road cycling.
