A new production line for recycled cold asphalt was activated at the facilities of the Maracay Municipal Asphalt Plant, in the state of Aragua, after a first test that reached 100 tons of this material was successfully supervised.

The announcement was made by the mayor of the Girardot municipality, Rafael Morales, who stressed that this ecological alternative will be added to the hot asphalt production already generated by the complex in the capital of Aragüeña, thus managing to operate with two simultaneous lines to double road response capacity in the jurisdiction.

During the technical inspection of the plant, he explained that both production lines will more efficiently meet the demand of streets and avenues through a technique that not only optimizes public resources, but also represents significant economic savings for municipal management thanks to the versatility of the recycling process.

“With this technique, we are going to attend to Rio Blanco II in the coming days, using the recycling of asphalt scarification from these same sectors to generate solid folders of recycled material,” he said.

The distribution of recycled cold asphalt will begin immediately in the communities of southern Maracay that have the greatest impact on their roads, prioritizing for this initial phase the sectors of Los Cocos, Aguacatal, San Carlos and Rio Blanco II.

The initiative is consolidated thanks to the joint effort between the National Executive; the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation; the Government of the State of Aragua and the Mayor's Office of Girardot, as part of an institutional commitment to provide optimal and safe roads for all the inhabitants of the city.
